Flipcounter is developed and operated by Sidecreations, a sole proprietorship (eenmanszaak) registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 42136730.
Flipcounter connects to your Shopify store using the Shopify Admin API with the read_orders scope. Through this connection, and through Shopify's order-related webhooks, we store the following information for each order:
We do not collect or store customer names, email addresses, shipping addresses, phone numbers, or the contents of orders (products, line items). This data is used solely to calculate the number displayed on your connected Smiirl counter.
During installation, Shopify's permission screen may list broader categories of data as technically accessible under the read_orders scope — such as customer device and browser information, or basic store owner contact details. This is standard Shopify disclosure behaviour tied to the scope itself, not data that Flipcounter actively requests, stores, or processes. Flipcounter only reads and retains the order fields listed above.
Order data is used exclusively to calculate the live number shown on your Smiirl counter, based on the settings you configure (period, display mode, and whether to exclude refunds or unpaid orders). We do not sell, share, or use this data for any other purpose, including marketing or analytics unrelated to the app's core function.
Order data is retained for as long as your store has Flipcounter installed. If you uninstall the app, your session data is removed. You can request full deletion of your store's data at any time by contacting us (see below), and we also process Shopify's mandatory GDPR webhooks (customer data request, customer redact, and shop redact) automatically.
Flipcounter generates a unique, private URL for your store, which your Smiirl counter uses to fetch the current number. This URL is not linked to any personal data and only exposes a single number (order count or revenue total). If this URL is ever accidentally shared or exposed, you can generate a new one at any time from the app's settings page — the old URL will immediately stop working.
